PROFILE

Lorena serves as a Legal Assistant at Petry Advisory, where she helps clients navigate complex tax matters with confidence and clarity. Drawing on more than two decades of experience with the Internal Revenue Service, she assists clients by providing accurate tax guidance and helping them better understand their tax responsibilities.

Lorena holds bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Business and retired from the IRS after 21 years of service. During her career, she worked in both Field Assistance and Stakeholder Partnerships, Education, and Communication (SPEC), where she developed extensive expertise in tax law, taxpayer education, and client service. She also served as a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) volunteer, helping individuals and families prepare tax returns and better understand the tax system.

What Lorena enjoys most about her work is empowering clients through education. She believes that proactive tax guidance helps individuals and businesses avoid future tax issues, remain compliant with IRS requirements, and make informed financial decisions with greater confidence.

Throughout her IRS career, Lorena was especially passionate about serving Hispanic and moderate-income families by connecting them with valuable tax resources and helping them understand their rights and responsibilities. She continues that commitment today by making tax information accessible, understandable, and practical for every client she serves.

Outside of the office, Lorena enjoys staying active through gym workouts, Zumba, and yoga. She is also an avid sports fan who enjoys traveling, experiencing different cultures, and spending time dancing with family and friends.
